Dear Friends,

With Europe taking the first steps out of lockdown and quarantine, we at La Serranía are looking forward to reopening during the course of the summer and gradually returning to a regular schedule of retreats.

Soon after we opened in 1999, we were hit with the fallout of 9/11 and then seven years later with the global financial crisis. Yet we adapted and came back stronger each time. With people increasingly choosing to use their vacations to invest in themselves, both spiritually and physically, we believe that what we offer is becoming more of a necessity every year. As a wise friend remarked while we were planning La Serrania, “We will need places like this in the next century.”

A vital element in our successful continuity has been the evolution of the ‘La Serranía community’, which has grown steadily over the 500 or so retreats we have hosted in the past 21 years. Some members return each year, some visit more sporadically and others remain with us in memory and spirit, yet it is this community of Yogis, Dancers, Artists, Writers and Others which brings us strength and joy as we prepare for each new season.

As the Covid-19 crisis began, we undertook the long-awaited redesign of our website, www.laserrania.com, and hope you will enjoy it. We have also been rescheduling many of our retreats to dates later in the year or next year. Please keep an eye on our new Calendar to see the latest status.

In the coming weeks we will be posting details of other initiatives…

Community Weeks

An opportunity to spend a relaxing week or two with us with meals included and other activities, such as massages, yoga classes and art classes on an a la carte basis.

Mini-Retreats

If you are a teacher or ‘organiser’ and would like to bring a small group to La Serrania on short notice, please contact us and we will try to make this work.We are hopeful that these difficult times will soon be behind us and that we will see you again very soon.

Best Wishes -

Tim & Martina
